Guerrero seeks to “explore the fragility of life” of those who are on the border and highlight the fundamental humanity of these refugees. The nature of his art itself works to make the vulnerability of refugees viscerally clear, as glass by its nature implies a sense of fragility. He has exhibited individual sculptures, along with letters, clothing, and audiovisuals, depicting how refugees experienced the border crossing, including the circumstances in their home countries that led them to migrate, and experiences of separation and detention.
