Lucía Warck-Meister

Lucia is an arts manager, curator and visual artist. She is a professor of Painting and Sculpture, she graduated from ENBAPP, Buenos Aires.

Parallel to the development of her artistic work, she has been always interested in promoting ideas and concepts that were reflected in numerous events within the field of visual arts. Among them, she curated and co-produced, together with the Borges Cultural Center, the exhibition Que Ven los Que no Ven, which was awarded the Ibermuseos Prize and declared of Cultural Interest by the Government of the City of Buenos Aires. She created the innovative workshop of Soft Sculptures within the Museum of Decorative Art in Buenos Aires. During her ten year stay in New York she was a producer for the annual Art in Odd Places Festival.

She has received the following awards: in 2020 was selected by The Bakehouse for the Studio Residency, Miami, FL; National Endowment for the Arts Grant 2019, Buenos Aires; 2017 SACO6 Antofagasta, Chile; 2014 Ibermuseos Award; 2009 Pollock-Krasner Fellowship, New York; 2007 Guest Artist at the American Academy in Rome. In 2006 she won the First Prize at the Biennial for Sculpture in Public Spaces, Palm Beach, FL. She has obtained the Prize for Creativity, National Endowment for the Arts, Buenos Aires and the Amalia Lacroze de Fortabat Foundation Award, and the Fundación Telefónica Award in Argentina. She attended art residencies at Oolite, Miami, FL; SVA School of Visual Arts, New York; NYFA New York Foundation for the Arts Mentoring Program, NY; Sculpture Space, Utica, NY; CAMAC Marnay-sur-Seine, FR.
